Africa=patience

We are 5 weeks in and 3 more to go left of outreach and all I can say is man time flys. Africa has been an amazing trip thus far. The team has been bonding a ton and God is really at work amongst us. God has been teaching me PATIENCE. This culture is so very different than America or even Australia for that matter. They say we will leave in 30 minutes that means probably two hours. Its something I don't think I could get used to. Its been a struggle for most of the team but we are learning so much through it. Id say for the most part is has made us closer as a team. We have to laugh about it really, there is nothing else you can do without making yourself go crazy!
This outreach is so different than my outreach to Thailand/ Cambodia. For one I am a leader but even beyond that the lessons that Gods been teaching me are totally different. Looking back I would say Thailand was a time where my relationship with God reached an entire new level of intimacy. This time I am learning to use all the things God taught me during that time to help out these students. We are only responsible for the outcome of our own obedience and that is something I am hoping the entire team takes away from this outreach. I believe that is why we are are getting along so well too. God is at work in each persons heart on this team, and they are seeking Gods plan for their lives. Of course everyones prayers play a mighty hand in it all as well!

Anyways.... Just wanted to let you all know our team is currently working in South Africa outside of Johannesburg. We are in a town called Benoni, working with a kids home that facilitates about 55 kids from babies to young adults. There is some spiritual heaviness at this place to just keep us in your prayers for good nights sleep. There are a lot of us that are having trouble resting/sleeping. Please continue to pray that within these last three weeks we give it all we have even if we are tired. Also pray the students find direction with the plan God has for them after outreach. Its always tough going back to the real world/ back home.
